The Program Details
The Shine Program creates the space to experience character strengths and mindfulness together.
Shine consists of 8 themed workshops taking place in a relaxed on-line setting.
With a range of hands-on activities, participants engage, practice, and co-create their learning experience.

The 8 Program Themes

Discovering: Workshops 1 & 2
The initial workshops serve the purpose of getting acquainted with the fellow participants and setting solid foundations for the program.
#1 Mindfulness & Autopilot. We begin the Shine Program by familiarizing ourselves with the mindfulness basics that we will be using throughout the program.
#2 Your Signature Strengths. In the second workshop, we discover the inventory of 24 character strengths knows as the VIA Classification and pay particular attention to our signature strengths.

Exploring: Workshops 4-6
The sessions at the heart of the program serve the purpose of allowing participants to experience the synergy of bringing character strengths to mindfulness and vice versa.
#3 Obstacles are Opportunities. We experience how the challenges we face are opportunities to draw upon our character strengths.
#4 Mindfulness in Daily Life. We notice the moments in our day-to-day life and work when we could call up our character strengths.
#5 Valuing your Relationships. We direct our attention toward our relationships with ourselves and others and the positive impact our character strengths and mindfulness can have on this key aspect of our lives.
#6 The Golden Mean (Balance). We experiment with bringing balance to our character strengths - not too little, not too much.

Sustaining: Workshops 7-8
The last sessions serve the purpose of making the practices sustainable across all aspects of our lives (i.e., at home, at work, and with our family and friends).
#7 Authenticity & Goodness. We bring our attention to ways to continue the practices beyond the program to the benefit of ourselves and others.
#8 Engagement with Life. We take stock of the prior workshops and explore how these experiences and learnings allow us to engage more deeply in everyday life and work.

Top Participant Outcomes
Participants around the globe consistently report a range of positive outcomes from participating in Mindfulness-Based Strengths Practice (MBSP) programs such as the Shine Program.
Positive Outcomes
According to feedback from participants of Mindfulness-Based Strengths Practice programs lead by VIA and other practitioners in 50+ countries, participants overwhelmingly report positive outcomes.
By far the #1 positive outcome is improved relationships. This specific outcome is unique to MBSP programs - i.e., it does not appear as an outcome of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programs.

Essential Program Information

The co-created space is intentionally relaxed and experiential with a balanced mix of opportunities for reflection and interaction.

Workshops conveniently take place via the live video-conferencing platform Zoom, allowing participants to comfortably connect and join as and wherever they are.

Discussions (peer-to-peer and all together), exercises, short mindful practices, a mini-360°, journaling, experience sharing, light reading, and more activities are proposed during and between workshops.

Participants complete the free VIA Survey on the VIA website and bring their report to each workshop.

Inidividual Clients:
The early bird fee is 400 CHF / USD per participant until August 1, 2022. Full price fee amounts to 500 CHF / USD per participant.
Corporate Clients:
The early bird fee is 500 CHF / USD per participant until August 1, 2022. Full price fee amounts to 600 CHF / USD per participant.

Participants will earn a certificate of completion based on the number of program hours completed.
Coaches:
Shine is an opportunity for coaches to earn up to 16 hours of training that they may use to request resource development CCEUs with the International Coaching Federation.
